Who we are
Dorset Rape Crisis Line is a voluntary organisation run by women for women and girls who have been raped or sexually abused.
Our aim is to provide practical and emotional support to any woman or girl, or anyone supporting someone who has been, or is being, abused or harassed.
What we can do to help
The support we offer can take the form of:
- A listening service - either over the telephone or face to face
- Information - for example on:
- Pregnancy testing
- S.T.D. & H.I.V. testing
- Police and Court Procedures
- Other relevant support groups
- We can also give support to friends and relatives
- We are happy to talk to any woman or girl, however trivial a problem may seem to her
- It does not matter how long ago the attack or abuse took place, or whether it is still occurring.
All our services are free and confidential
FACT - In the experience of Rape Crisis Lines, women of all ages, races and lifestyles have been raped.
FACT - Rape is not sexual intercourse at the wrong time, in the wrong place. It is an act of extreme violence against women.
FACT - Rape is a complete violation of your whole being.
