Training Programme
The training programme is divided into two parts; the first 5 sessions are Education about Rape and its effects and the Ethos of our group. The second 5 session cover Active Listening Skills.
We meet usually on Wednesday evenings from 7-30 to 9-30 pm and two Saturdays from 10-00 to 3-0 pm.
We expect 100% attendance at all training sessions, unless there is an emergency or serious ill health.
We require all potential volunteers to talk through a questionnaire with an established member of the group in confidence, before they begin the training.
At the end of the training once again the trainee will talk through another questionnaire with a member of the group when a decision will be made about joining the group.
We always work in twos and each new volunteer will be given a mentor so that their training continues and so that they can support each other.
We also have a designated supervisor who is part of the group.
